It's fall y'all! That means Halloween is right around the corner. On Saturday, October 26th, bring your family out (in their best costumes, of course) for our annual trick-or-treating event. Merchants along 10th St., Central Ave., and 6th St. will be open to fill your candy bags! This year, Downtown Tracy will be partnering with Tracy Police Department to host their Safety Scare, and Tracy Firefighters will park their firetruck near the Fire Admin building on 9th St.! The Tracy City Center Association is excited to host the Downtown Tracy Holiday Ornament Stroll. Event attendees will receive an ornament from each of up to 30 participating downtown businesses. The classical Grand Theatre, designed by architect Albert W. Cornelius, opened on August 11, 1923 as a premiere vaudeville half-house in the area. Conceived and built by German-born entrepreneur John C. Droge, the theatre was converted to show “talkies” by the late 1920’s. The facility received a major remodel during its heyday between 1939 and 1941 (under the Allen's ownership), garnered with bold new art deco features including a sculptural marquee designed by Alexander Cantin and futuristic mural by Anthony (Antoon) Heinsbergen.
